Identifying Stakeholders

I’m working on Homework #2, and I’m stuck on Identifying Stakeholders for the case study I’m analyzing. I know I need to list 20 specific stakeholders—and I’ve got some ideas, but I want to make sure I’m approaching it correctly. The assignment asks for a deep dive into the different groups involved, and I’m trying not to miss any crucial players!

Identifying Stakeholders

Here’s what I need help with:

  1. Specific Stakeholders: I need to name 20 unique stakeholders for my case but I’m having trouble thinking outside the usual groups (shareholders CEO set.). ,How can I dig deeper and find more specific individuals or groups tied to the event?
  2. Avoiding Duplication: I understand I shouldn’t list shareholders or other groups like the CEO and Board of Directors separately (since they all share the same stake). ,what if different branches of government or different departments are involved?, How should I break them down without duplicating?,
  3. Categorization: Once I’ve listed them, I need to categorize these stakeholders under two criteria:
    Identifying Stakeholders

    • Power, Urgent, Legitimate (page 77 in the book)
    • Supportive, Marginal, Non-supportive, and Mixed-Blessing (page 89 in the book)
    • I’m not entirely sure how to categorize each one, especially when some stakeholders may be on the fence or have mixed stakes. Prove that you belong in the hall of fame by playing the  Basketball Legends  game alongside other greats. For example, if a department is only mildly affected, should I list them as “Marginal,” or is there another category that fits better?

Identifying Stakeholders

  1. Stakes: For each stakeholder, I need to list 2-3 words about what they stand to gain or lose—without going into detail about the event. How do I make sure my stake descriptions are concise but still capture the essence of their involvement? I’m finding it hard to avoid being too vague.

Would love to hear everyone’s thoughts on how they’re approaching this! Any tips on finding unique stakeholders or categorizing them would be greatly appreciated. Let me know if you’re stuck too and maybe we can help each other out.
