Informative Speech
Main Point III, Conclusion & APA Reference Page
Informative Speech
Now that you have completed your introduction and first two main points, you will complete the remainder of the outline which includes Main Point III, Conclusion and APA Reference page. This will be the first full draft being submitted before the final
Guidelines:
- You must submit this as a file upload (Word doc or PDF) – no external links,
- Conversion to PDF is needed if you are using a MAC computer,
- You cannot type within the textbox,
- You must include all revisions from previous work (Introduction, Main Point I and II); not submitting an entire rough draft with this submission will result in a zero and resubmission required by deadline,
- Must include cited research,
For Main Point III (three) completion:
Informative Speech
- Every Roman numeral, alphabet letter and Arabic number is only one sentence in length
- I must see proper citations Only within the Arabic numbers (subpoints 1 & 2 only) in APA format
- If you do not cite sources, you will receive a zero for plagiarism
- If you copy and paste quotes without paraphrasing, you will receive severely reduced credit
- Please paraphrase your research and cite in APA format
For Conclusion completion:
Informative Speech
- Must include two Roman numerals per outline worksheet
- This is the only area that will have a total of 3-5 sentences total
- Meaning: the Roman numerals that make up this section will have no more than 5 sentences between the two Roman numerals
- Main points from the outline must be reviewed in the first Roman numeral only
- Leave the audience with something memorable in second Roman numeral (use attention getting techniques – question, quote, lyric, relate to audience, etc)
- “Thank you” will not meet the “concluding remarks / wow statement” for Roman numeral II (but should always be included verbally – not typed out)
Informative Speech
For APA Reference page completion:
- Must start on a new page (not a separate document)
- Must have “References” as a title
- Sources must be in alphabetical order
- Sources must have proper hanging indents
- Sources found online must include URL (remove hyperlink – no blue underlines allowed)
