Qualitative Research for Innovation
Innovate Tech is developing a new product aimed at enhancing remote team collaboration. Unlike quantitative methods that focus on statistical data, qualitative research focuses on experiences and insights from individuals or small groups.
In a qualitative study, Innovate Tech is using purposive sampling, allowing it to select participants who are experienced remote team leaders and can thus provide valuable firsthand experiences and perspectives. This approach ensures that it captures rich, contextual data that highlight the challenges and successes faced by businesses in adapting to remote collaboration tools.
Innovate Tech will be conducting in-depth interviews using open-ended questions for participants who have knowledge of different types of remote team structures, allowing diverse perspectives.

To maintain rigor in its research methodology, Innovate Tech will follow key principles such as member checking and reflexivity. Member checking will establish credibility by allowing participants to review the findings, ensuring that their voices are accurately represented. Reflexivity will encourage the company to remain aware of its biases and assumptions throughout the research process, fostering a more authentic understanding of the qualitative data collected.
