Parental mental health is a growing issue affecting many families today. Whether due to depression, anxiety, or trauma, mental health challenges in one or both parents significantly influence family dynamics, child development, and household stability.

Parental mental health problems can lead to emotional distress for children, disruptions in parenting routines, and increased family conflict. Children may struggle academically or behaviorally and can develop mental health challenges themselves. Partners or co-parents may face increased stress due to caregiving burdens and may experience emotional withdrawal or relational strain. In severe cases, families may face economic hardship if a parent cannot work or requires long-term treatment.


3. Historical Evolution of the Issue
