Objective: Distinguish the different types of health plans used to reimburse healthcare organizations for the delivery of inpatient and outpatient services.

Describe and discuss the Fee-for-Service (FFS) Reimbursement Methodology. Include how hospitals/physician practices are reimbursed. Give an example.
Describe and discuss the government health plans Medicare and Medicaid. Address the payment systems used. Give examples of services provided and how a hospital is reimbursed.
Compare and contrast the differences in the health plans discussed (address benefits and challenges of each on the healthcare organization(s).
