Propose a change to one aspect of your local or regional health care system or program that would improve outcomes. Then, conduct a comparative analysis of other, non-U.S. health care systems, focusing on the proposed change. Summarize the proposed change and your comparative analysis in a 4–5 page report.

program that would improve outcomes.

Health care systems around the world provide useful models for analysis. Familiarity with different models and approaches to health care enables leaders to identify what works and what does not, as the basis for proposing a change. As we continue to evaluate the complex and fragmented system in the United States, it is important for nurse leaders to become familiar with the programs and systems that provide evidence-based quality care that is affordable and focused on continual improvement.

This assessment provides an opportunity to examine a local or regional health care issue from a global perspective.

Your organization, in collaboration with the key stakeholders from the community, is funding an initiative to investigate potential improvements in the local or regional health care system. As a nurse leader attuned to the effects of health care policy and finance on the provision of affordable, high-quality care, you have been asked to join the task force conducting the study.

You know that an examination of other countries’ health care systems can provide a solid, evidence-based foundation for evaluating outcomes and identifying benchmarks. Consequently, you have decided to undertake an analysis of selected, non-U.S. health care systems and compare them to each other and to the existing local or regional U.S. system to help inform decision making as the task force considers proposed changes.

In this assessment, you will propose a change to one aspect of your local or regional health care system or program. Conduct a comparative analysis of different health care systems and summarize your proposed change and findings from your analysis in a report to executive leaders. To prepare for your assessment, you are encouraged to begin thinking about the non-U.S. health care systems you might like to examine. In addition, you may wish to:

REQUIREMENT

Complete this assessment in three steps:

  1. Propose a change to one aspect of your local or regional health care system or program that would improve outcomes.,
  2. Conduct a comparative analysis of different health care systems focusing on one aspect of the system you are proposing to change.,
  3. Summarize your proposed change and the results of your comparative analysis in a report to executive leaders.,

The summary report requirements outlined below, correspond to the grading criteria in the scoring guide for Proposing Evidence-Based Change, so be sure to address each point. Read the performance-level descriptions for each criterion to see how your work will be assessed. The Guiding Questions: Proposing Evidence-Based Change document provides additional considerations that may be helpful in completing your assessment. In addition, be sure to note the requirements below for document format and length and for citing supporting evidence.

  • Identify an aspect of a local or regional health care system or program that should be a focus for change.
  • Define desirable outcomes, including who will pay for care and factors limiting achievement of those outcomes.
  • Analyze two non-U.S. health care systems or programs that offer insight into a proposed change for a health care system or program in the United States.
    • Choose one of the following options for selecting the two systems or programs:
      • Option 1: Select two systems at opposite ends of the scale in terms of desirable outcomes for the issue reflected in your proposed change.
      • Option 2: Select two systems that both produce positive outcomes but take unique or innovative approaches to the problem.
    • Compare the outcomes in each non-U.S. system with each other and with present outcomes in your local or regional health care system.
  • Explain why specific changes will lead to improved outcomes.
  • Determine the financial and health implications associated with the proposed changes.
    • Address the implications of making the changes.
    • Address the implications of not making the changes.
  • Write clearly and concisely in a logically coherent and appropriate form and style.
  • Support assertions, arguments, propositions, and conclusions with relevant and credible evidence.

Question-1. A box of mass m is sliding along a horizontal surface.

Part A The box leaves position x=0 with speed v0. The box is slowed by a constant frictional force until it comes to rest at position x=x1.,

Find the magnitude of the average frictional force that acts on the box. (Since you don’t know the coefficient of friction, don’t include it in your answer.)Express the frictional force in terms of m, v0, x1  Mastering in physics

Mastering in physics ƒ
Part B After the box comes to rest at position x1 a person starts pushing the box giving it a speed v1.

When the box reaches position x2(wherex2 > x1), how much work has the person done on the box? Assume that the box reaches x2 after the person has accelerated it from rest to speedv1.Express the work in terms of m, v0, x1, x2, v1

Question-2

Understand that conservative forces can be removed from the work integral by incorporating them into a new form of energy called potential energy that must be added to the kinetic energy to get the total mechanical energy.

The first part of this problem contains short-answer questions that review the work-energy theorem. In the second part we introduce the concept of potential energy. But for now, please answer in terms of the work-energy theorem.(PART-A to PART E)

  • The last part of a change process typically includes the analysis and monitoring of any interventions that were implemented. This process entails data collection and measuring outcomes. The analysis would also require assessing the actual effectiveness of the interventions.

Once the initial effectiveness of interventions is determined, it is important to continue with routine or regular follow-up evaluations These evaluations would enable organizations to do the following:

Identify any other areas requiring improvement,

Track progress,

Make any necessary adjustments to the interventions,

Answer the following questions:

What are some examples of ways to analyze the effectiveness of organizational development (OD) interventions?

Why is key stakeholder involvement and feedback important to evaluate success of OD interventions?,

What monitoring strategy would you recommend to ensure that OD interventions are maintained?,

Reflect on a successful change that you were a part of. What advice would you give to help others manage change?,

Your final submission should consist of a 5–7-page Word document (including cover page and resource page).

Write evaluation of current organization or interprofessional team performance, with respect to prescribed benchmarks set forth by government laws and policies at the local, state, and federal levels.

Maintaining standards and promoting quality in modern health care are crucial, not only for the care of patients, but also for the continuing success and financial viability of health care organizations. In the era of health care reform, health care leaders must understand what quality care entails and how quality in health care connects to the standards set forth by relevant federal, state, and local laws and policies. Understanding relevant benchmarks that result from these laws and policies and how they relate to quality care and regulatory standards is also vitally important.

Health care is a dynamic, complex, and heavily regulated industry. For this reason, you will be expected to constantly scan the external environment for emerging laws, new regulations, and changing industry standards. You may discover that as new policies are enacted into law, ambiguity in interpretation of various facets of the law may occur. Sometimes, new laws conflict with preexisting laws and regulations, or unexpected implementation issues arise, which may warrant further clarification from lawmakers. Adding partisan politics and social media to the mix can further complicate understanding of the process and buy-in from stakeholders.

Choose one of the following two options for a performance dashboard to use as the basis for your evaluation:

Option 1: Dashboard Metrics Evaluation Simulation

Use the data presented in your Assessment 1 Dashboard and Health Care Benchmark Evaluation activity as the basis for your evaluation.,

Note: The writing you do as part of the simulation could serve as a starting point to build upon for this assessment.

Option 2: Actual Dashboard

Use an actual dashboard from a professional practice setting for your evaluation. If you decide to use actual dashboard metrics, be sure to add a brief description of the organization and setting that includes:

The size of the facility that the dashboard is reporting on.

The specific type of care delivery.

The population diversity and ethnicity demographics.

The socioeconomic level of the population served by the organization.

Note: Ensure your data are Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) compliant. Do not use any easily identifiable organization or patient information.

To complete this assessment:

Review the performance dashboard metrics in your Assessment 1 Dashboard and Health Care Benchmark Evaluation activity, as well as relevant local, state, and federal laws and policies. Consider the metrics that are falling short of the prescribed benchmarks. Note: The writing you do as part of the simulation could serve as a starting point to build upon for this assessment.

Write a report for a senior leader that communicates your evaluation of current organizational or interprofessional team performance, with respect to prescribed benchmarks set forth by government laws and policies at the local, state, and federal levels. In addition, advocate for ethical and sustainable action to address benchmark underperformance and explain the potential for improving the overall quality of care and performance, as reflected on the performance dashboard.

Make sure your report meets the Report Requirements listed below. Structure it so that it will be easy for a colleague or supervisor to locate the information they need, and be sure to cite the relevant health care policies or laws when evaluating metric performance against established benchmarks.

REPORT REQUIREMENT

The report requirements outlined below correspond to the scoring guide criteria, so be sure to address each main point. Read the performance-level descriptions for each criterion to see how your work will be assessed. In addition, be sure to note the requirements for document format and length and for supporting evidence.

Evaluate dashboard metrics associated with benchmarks set forth by local, state, or federal health care laws or policies.

Which metrics are not meeting the benchmark for the organization?

What are the local, state, or federal health care policies or laws that establish these benchmarks?

What conclusions can you draw from your evaluation?

Are there any unknowns, missing information, unanswered questions, or areas of uncertainty where additional information could improve your evaluation?

Analyze the consequence(s) of not meeting prescribed benchmarks and the impact this has on health care organizations or teams.

Consider the following examples:

Organizational mission and vision.

Resources.

Staffing.
