Paper Formatting:
In a 1,800-2,400-word Mission Command Paper, analyze a Col Freeman performance in Battle of Chipyong-Ni. This analysis will evaluate how effectively or ineffectively the commander executed 4 of the 7 Mission Command principles: competence, mutual trust, shared understanding, commander’s intent, mission orders, disciplined initiative, and risk acceptance. discuss how the commander’s use of those principles affected the battle’s outcome.
Assume the audience/reader is very familiar with ADP 6-0 (still must be cited when used and placed in bibliography and footnotes) and somewhat familiar with the historical battle. The introduction and history will each be separate sections, and they are limited to only ONE paragraph each. A brief history of the battle and commander is mandatory.
The paper must be 1,800-2,400-words double spaced in Microsoft Word (not including cover page, footnotes, or bibliography), 12-pt Times New Roman font, with one-inch margins around, plus a separate Coversheet and a bibliography (citing at least four sources, not including ADP 6-0) in Chicago/Turabian style. Minimum of six footnote entries, not including ADP 6-0. The essay must be in accordance with the Army writing style as per AR 25-50, ST 22-2, and other LOG C3-specific guidelines. Students should utilize ‘ Argument and Mission Command Paper Format.docx’ as an example of formatting paper. Use of primary texts is highly encouraged.
