Audit Findings Action Plan
Instructions
You will prepare and present an action plan in response to an actual audit finding for a selected federal department or agency.
Format
MS Word cannot be PDF – penalty if PDF or any format other than MS Word
Separate cover page
- Include 3 full – 5 pages of content (not including cover page or references)
- One separate page for sources must have two separate sources
- Include page numbers and headers
- Must be well-written free of grammatical, typographical, and other errors
- Single spaced and double spaced between paragraphs
Audit Findings Action Plan
- Must use 12 point font
- Reference the original finding
- List recent instance (since Jan 1, 2022) of an actual audit finding for a US federal department or agency any agency/department
- Summarize the issue, what led to the issue occurring.
- Identify the steps the agency took (e.g., the OIG) to identify the issue
- Delineate steps you recommend the agency should take to avoid the issue in
- the future (e.g., improve specific internal controls)
- List how new technology (c.g., RPA, Data Analytics) could help identify the issue, avoid the issue, or have caused the issue (or lead to the issue occurring again)

- Must include charts/graphs/data analytics (which is part of the 3-5 pages limit)
- The finished plan of action is to be submitted via the assignments section of the course menu. APA.
