Nurses are guided by various nursing theories and models for assessment, intervention, and evaluation within family nursing practice. Nurses enter into a relationship with patients and families during the assessment phase. This relationship should be nurtured from the beginning so that a healthy partnership can be formed, maintained, and terminated appropriately during the course of the interaction.
