Differenciated Literacy
Each student enters the classroom with a different set of factors that affect learning, and all students learn differently. GCU’s Statement on the Integration of Faith, Learning and Work states that “we are confident that the work we do is a calling on our lives as we meet others’ needs” along with, “serving others in ways that promote human flourishing.” Consider these components of the GCU’s Statement on the Integration of Faith, Learning and Work when researching and making decisions as to how you will differentiate for instruction, activities, and assessments in order to reach all students.
Differenciated Literacy
Teachers differentiate instruction based on readiness, interest, and individual learning goals. Educators determine appropriate instructional strategies based on assessment data. In a 3-5-minute video, provide a professional development workshop for your colleagues about how to differentiate two research-based literacy development strategies. You may use strategies from the presentation you created in the previous topic. Demonstrate how these two research-based literacy development strategies could be differentiated for:
Students above grade level
Students below grade level
English language learners
Unmotivated students
