Individual with a Developmental Disability

Students will select and view a film or documentary that depicts the life of an individual with a developmental disability. (Examples of films/documentaries have been provided below). The students will write a 3 to 4 page paper addressing all of the aspects of the film/documentary listed in the bullet points below. This paper should be double-spaced, with 12 size, Times New Roman font and APA style referencing is required.

Students should be able to identify the following, while providing examples from the film:

Review of the film/documentary:,

-The symptoms experienced and unique needs of the individual with the disability,

-Challenges faced by the individual,

Application of knowledge and skills (Provide at least two peer-reviewed research articles that will support your ideas to the following questions):

-What services would you suggest the individual(s) be provided with that would meet his/her specific needs?

-How can you support the individual(s) to get connected within his/her community?

Drawing from the evaluation of the tools and the data analysis and visuals your team created in the previous reports, as well as feedback from your instructor, create a PowerPoint presentation that summarizes and displays all of this information for stakeholders. - Visuals should directly support the other content in the presentation., They should be professional and fully communicate the data represented but also be easy to read within a presentation., Avoid visuals that contain too much information or are too large making them difficult to see or understand within the context of a presentation.
Include detailed speaker’s notes with each slide, and structure the presentation in a way that includes an introduction slide that explains the purpose of the presentation and a conclusion slide that summarizes the presentation.
Keep in mind this presentation is for your manager, who may share it with other stakeholders in the company. Include an introductory slide that briefly states the purpose of the presentation and a conclusion slide. Your writing should be professional in nature. The presentation should also be free of grammatical, punctuation and spelling errors.

Create your presentation in PowerPoint and save it in OneDrive. Each of you should submit the same presentation individually in Canvas. Describe and evaluate the differences between city and county governments. Analyze the strengths and weaknesses of both and how these structures work with state government.

Do you believe that city and county governments should have less or more power? Support your argument. For example a county that bans something through an election and the state negates that decision.

Essay Question: For post test needs to be 3 paragraphs, cited source and analysis for full points.

Review the types of courts in the state of Texas and the judges that preside over them. Take two examples and thoroughly evaluate the types of cases they hear; and in particular what are the qualifications of the judge(s) who reside over that type of court. I do not want only a list of the cases, I want you to critically think about the crimes being brought to the court and the judicial authority presiding over them.

Think critically; what is YOUR analysis of the correlation of the two? Some examples to think about might be; how the judge is selected; what is their education; what oversight do judges have; do the crimes being processed in that court match the level of the judicial authority?
