The Purpose in Life Test

The purpose in life test is used to investigate if the individual is experiencing existential angst in regards to whether or not the life they live is meaningful and has purpose. Victor Frankl and a number of other humanistic and existential psychologists believe if an individual has a strong sense of meaning and purpose they will flourish. Those who do not, suffer and struggle with life and lack the resilience to overcome difficulties. Therefore, it is hoped that people who take this test will score more than 50 points indicating they have a strong sense of meaning and purpose. This is a short version of the Myers Briggs Type Indicator personality test. It is used to capture particular personality traits and characteristics of an individual. Inventory Attachment theory basically indicates if you have a strong attachment to your caregiver you will have better relationships and experience less anxiety in life.
