Context of the Forecast There are many ways to approach business forecasting. For example, there are both qualitative and quantitative methods. Some forecasts are based on highly sophisticated statistical methods; some are based on experience and examine past precedent, while others just follow a gut feeling. The selection of a method depends on many factors such as the context of the forecast, the relevance and availability of historical data, the degree of desirable accuracy, and others. After watching the TED Talks video, should the executives have considered qualitative methods, quantitative method or both in the decision. Please be specific. What did you learn in this video that can apply to your professional life?

Public Opinion and the Media since the advent of polling, political scientists have found that Americans don’t know much about the details of political issues or even the names of many leading politicians. Education is one distinguishing factor that separates the politically sophisticated from the unsophisticated, but, since education levels have increased over the last half-century, why hasn’t Americans’ knowledge of politics increased? How does democracy survive given such low levels of political knowledge among Americans over time? Can democracy be sustained when, so few people are involved in the political system?

Public Opinion and the Media

Public Opinion and the Media Voter turnout in a local election can run less than 10 percent, yet local governments are the ones that affect people more closely daily. Why do more people not vote in America? Explain the role of public opinion influences how we view and make our political decision based on education, religion, race, etc. Please comment on any of those elements and how did it influence your political decision. Can the average American trust the media, given the amount of “fake news” that is placed on social media, I often wonder if we have a fair chance to understand the candidates and the political process. I will love to hear your comments.

Psychological Research How does the power of the situation affect how we think, feel, and behave, not just in the lab but in our day-to-day lives? What does social psychological research have to offer as we understand how we relate to one another in our social world? Choose a specific topic from this week’s readings, and as you summarize, make sure to relate it to everyday life. (Topic persuasion from Jake teeny) Psychology, those questions are about human behavior and mental processes. Sometimes we think we know the answers because it is what common sense tells us, what we’ve experienced or witnessed in our own lives, or what we have been told by someone else.

Psychological Research

However, as King (2023) stated, two of the core attitudes of psychologists are skepticism and critical thinking. Psychologists utilize critical thinking and skepticism to question, examine, and challenge what everyone thinks to be true. Rhetoric Think of an example from your life that addresses the following questions: is rhetoric more about explaining truths or about creating beauty? Can you articulate a beautiful untruth (i.e. a lie)? Can truths be beautiful, or must they remain ugly? Have you ever shared an “ugly” truth? Name the criteria you would use to recommend hospitalization for this patient. Her LMP ended three days ago. Her last intercourse (vaginal) was eight days ago, and she states that they did not use a condom. She admits to unprotected sex “every once in a while.” She noted an abnormal vaginal discharge yesterday and she describes it as “thick, greenish yellow in color, and very smelly.”
